The big news about Larry King is that he filed for divorce from his seventh, yes seventh, wife recently.
But in other news about King, several news organzations are reporting that ratings for his show are down a whopping 44% for the first three months of 2010.
Really? And this is shocking to whom? King is famously unprepared for interviews and never asks any guest the tough questions. He often seems completely clueless.
Why is that, you ask? Well, it has also been reported that King never prepares for interviews. He believes that viewers know little or nothing about a given guest so he prefers to begin as they would begin, and learn about the guest during the course of the show.
In my opinion, this may have worked years ago, prior to entertainment news shows and the internet, but now.....hardly. And King is foolish to think that the guests on his show are unknown to viewers.
It seems that Mr. King's time on air really should come to an end. I'm sure he'd be ok with this. It would give him more time to enjoy his other passion --- attending Dodger games.
